Abstract
El presente artículo trata sobre el mito del nevado Sajama, llamado tata (padre) o Doctor Sajama, que forma parte dela cordillera occidental de Los Andes, ubicado la provincia Sajama del Departamento de Oruro, Bolivia. Es un mito que describe tanto las características de este personaje como su actividad productiva y relaciones sociales. El mito de Sajama es un saber local que expresa la actividad económica que rige la región, así como las cualidades que caracterizan la identidad de los sajameños.
The present article tries on the myth of snowy Sajama, called tata (father) or Doctor Sajama that is part of the western mountain range of Andes, located the county Sajama of the Department of Oruro, Bolivia. It is a myth that describes this character's characteristics like their productive activity and social relationships so much. The myth of Sajama isa local knowledge that expresses the economic activity that governs the region, as well as the qualities that characterize the identity of the sajameños.
