Abstract
Hospital pedagogy is an emerging field that seeks to guarantee the right to education for children and adolescents in adverse health contexts. The objective of this systematic review was to analyze empirical studies on hospital pedagogy published between 2017-2024. Hospital pedagogy emerges as a vital resource to ensure educational continuity and social inclusion of children in adverse health contexts. A PRISMA methodology was used, selecting 31 articles from the EBSCO (36%), WoS (28%), Scielo (28%) and Scopus (8%) databases. The majority were in English (70%) and Spanish (30%). The year with the most publications was 2019 (23.33%) followed by 2022 (20%). The studies show remarkable progress in the development of innovative strategies, focusing on individualization of teaching and the use of educational technology. Growing awareness of social inclusion has driven the improvement of policies and programs to guarantee the right to education for all students. However, it is crucial to address challenges such as the lack of adequate resources and training to maximize its positive impact on the educational development and social inclusion of children in the hospital environment.
