Abstract
The existence of Egretta caerulea in Bolivia was not certain. The species was first found in 1983 in the middle of the stationally flooding sabana in the east of Bolivia. Two samples can be found in the fauna collection at the Institute for Ecology (UMSA), La Paz, Bolivia. The species lives in a reproducing colony (heron-hawk), along with a variety of herons and one species of stork. This species, apparently rare in the east of Bolivia, does not have a big radius action, close to the reproducing colony in a swampy area, almost inaccesible for man, which seems to be the reason why, until now, it has yet not found.
