Abstract

The purpose of this research was to propose the set of competencies of the 21st century manager who must be present in the graduate training in Business Administration. For this, the profile of the manager demanded by the labor - business context, resulting from the project NURR-H-472-09-04-B and whose findings gave rise to this second phase of the investigation, was started. The dimensions of intellectuality, emotionality and spirituality that arose from the profile demanded were analyzed; and the competences that make up that profile. Each dimension was redefined, as well as each of its associated competences. The study was developed from a qualitative approach, with investigative techniques, such as: semi - structured interviews, in - depth workshops, researcher records, written materials. The actors involved were: entrepreneurs, graduates, professors from the management area, among others. The epistemic foundation of the research integrated the theoretical contributions on competences, multiple intelligences and management. The results arose from the categorized information of the different key informants, which was subjected to a process of triangulation and the theoretical constructs that emerged from the interpretative and reflective process of the theories on which the study was based; This allowed to build the proposal that includes the redefinition of the set of competences that should prevail in the training of the graduate of Business Administration.
