Observaciones sobre la videodanza a partir de la danza contemporánea:Car Men y Birth-day de Jirí Kylián
Abstract
What is contemporary dance is the question that seeks to develop Francois Frimat (2010) from the reception of different dance performances from the early twenty-first century. The little uniformity between them and the proposed ruptures by these so called contemporary artists’ works makes the question to repeat itself and the chronology of current events does not serve to explain the phenomenon. Far from being able to witness these types of live performances in our country as described by the French philosopher and critic, and increasingly confined as an audience to belatedly receive the fragmented traces of dance in the world, we deal in this study to review two dance films performed by the choreographer JiřiKylian: Car-men and Birth-day. These will help to support some comments on this new form of art, in constant change and construction that we have known for some time now as videodance.
