Las características geográficas, demográficas y socio económicas de Bolivia establecen particularidades en la problemática ambiental. El país es el más pobre de Sudamérica y el tercero más pobre en el hemisferio occidental después de Honduras y Haití. Sin embargo, posee, abundantes RRNN renovables y no renovables. Es el sexto país a nivel mundial con recursos forestales tropicales húmedos; el tercero en el continente americano después de Brasil y México en cuanto a bosques; el séptimo en el mundo en cuanto a biodiversidad; el segundo en Sudamérica en cuanto a reservas gasíferas y; posee reservas importantes de varios minerales (zinc, estaño, plata, litio y otros). | The geographical, demographic and socio-economic characteristics of Bolivia establish particularities in the environmental problem.
