Résultats préliminaires en faveur d'une relation faible ou inexistante entre les formes cliniques de la maladie de Chagas et les souches isoenzymatiques de Trypanosoma cruzi

Abstract

MEDICINE AND THERAPEUTICS. Preliminary results in favour of a weak or non-existent relationship between the clinical forms of Chagas'disease and Trypanosoma cruzi isozymic strains. Trypanosoma cruzi stains obtained by xenodiagnosis carried out on 23 Bolivian patients whose pathology was known, were analysed by enzymic typing. 3 patients were infected with mixed strains of both isozymic groups 1 and 2; lsozymic strains of groups 1 and 2 were both associated with cardiac pathology as well as digestive one. Any of the strains present a special relation with a cardiac pathology.
