Abstract
The artisan community in Metropolitan Lima faces significant challenges due to industrial competition and a lack of training in digital technologies. Given this situation, this article aims to evaluate the impact of incorporating digital manufacturing tools into their production processes. A quantitative study with an exploratory-descriptive design was conducted. Structured surveys were administered to 46 artisans, and a practical workshop was held at the FabLab of the National University of Engineering with 25 participants from different specialties. The questionnaire, validated with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.841, provided reliable data on the situation of the sector and its willingness to adopt technology. The results showed that more than 90% of artisans expressed interest in using digital technologies. Significant improvements were recorded: a 40% increase in precision and quality, a 35% reduction in production times, and a 25% optimization in the use of resources. The textile, ceramic, and jewelry sectors benefited the most, representing 70% of the artisan market. In conclusion, the integration of digital manufacturing technologies strengthens competitiveness, preserves cultural identity, and promotes sustainability, although it requires ongoing training and support programs.
