Abstract
El desarrollo de competencias en estudiantes universitarios es crucial para formar profesionales capaces de enfrentar desafíos y contribuir efectivamente a la sociedad. El propósito de esta investigación fue determinar la relación que existe entre la investigación acción y las competencias transversales en estudiantes de Inglés y Ciencias Histórico Sociales de la Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal de Lima, Perú. Se llevó a cabo un estudio no experimental, correlacional y cuantitativo de corte transversal con 80 estudiantes. Los resultados muestran una correlación significativa de 0,827 entre la investigación acción y las competencias transversales, lo que indica que la investigación activa impulsa el desarrollo de habilidades. Las dimensiones específicas presentan correlaciones robustas, la gestión de la información (0,789), el liderazgo (0,826), el trabajo en equipo (0,741) y la resolución de problemas (0,736). Estos hallazgos subrayan la importancia de una enseñanza activa que forme estudiantes competentes y agentes de cambio social.
The development of competencies in university students is crucial to train professionals capable of facing challenges and contributing effectively to society. The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between action research and transversal competencies in students of English and Historical Social Sciences at the Federico Villarreal National University in Lima, Peru. A non-experimental, correlational and quantitative cross-sectional study was carried out with 80 students. The results show a significant correlation of 0.827 between action research and transversal competencies, indicating that active research drives the development of skills. The specific dimensions present robust correlations: information management (0.789), leadership (0.826), teamwork (0.741) and problem solving (0.736). These findings underline the importance of active teaching that forms competent students and agents of social change.
