Abstract
Objective: to compare the body composition by the pentacompartmental method, somatotype and nutritional status of the soccer players of the Trujillanos Futbol Club (F.C.) selection, 2018-2019. Method: quantitative approach, comparative type, field and cross-sectional design. 60 players were taken from the research subject team, using as inclusion criteria being an active player of the selection in youth categories, aged between 13 and 22 years and the exclusion criteria were players on medical rest or injured. Results: it was obtained that the archers had more adipose tissue 26.3 ± 3.4%, the defenders had greater muscle tissue 45.5 ± 2.9% and bone 13.8 ± 0.9%, the mid-campers had greater residual tissue 13.4 ± 2.3% and skin 5.9 ± 0.5%, not presenting significant differences between the positions. In the compartments according to subcategories, significant differences (p <0.05) were observed in muscle tissue, bone and skin. In the somatotype an ectomesomorphic classification (2.0, 4.5, 3.3), and a predominantly normal nutritional status with 14.8% in poor nutrition due to deficit. Conclusions: The body composition was homogeneous with respect to the positions of the soccer players and heterogeneous in terms of the subcategories. In relation to the somatotype, an ectomesomorphic classification was obtained. The nutritional status is medium for adolescent soccer players and normal for adult soccer players.
