Universidad y masificación Acepciones y consecuencias de una realidad del siglo XXI
Abstract
El texto trata sobre el tema de la masificación universitaria, tema que preocupa e interesa a la mayoría de los docentes y estudiantes universitarios. Para ello, la autora analiza el concepto de "masificación" y las acepciones que tiene de acuerdo al lugar donde se lo utiliza y luego se ocupa del caso de la masificación universitaria en Bolivia analizando las circunstancias en que ésta se desarrolla y los diversos motivos de una sobre-valoración social de la posesión de un grado académico. Se analizan también las reacciones de parte de los docentes ante este fenómeno y sus consecuencias sobre el rendimiento y la calidad académica.
Summary The text presents the subject of University Massification, something that worries and interests the majority of university teachers and students. To do so, the author analyzes the concept of "massification" and the ways it is understood according to the place where it is occurring, she then studies the Bolivian case, analyzing the circumstances in which the phenomenon occurred and the many reasons for a social over- valuation of the possession of an academic diploma. She also analyzes the teacher's reactions when confronted with this situation and the consequences it has on university efficiency and academic quality.
