Prácticas sociales y violencia intrafamiliar

Abstract

La violencia intrafamiliar en contra de las mujeres no es una problemática social nueva y exclusiva de esta época. Al contrario, es una constante histórica que atraviesa toda la historia de la humanidad. Sin embargo, lo que hoy llama la atención es el hecho de haberse regularizado el uso de la fuerza y el poder del hombre para la resolución de conflictos en el contexto familiar. Pese al impacto negativo en la salud de las víctimas, esta situación ha permanecido oculta, ignorada e impune, y sólo en los últimos años ha sido calificada como un problema de salud pública y como un delito. A pesar de que existen numerosas investigaciones son necesarios más estudios que logren superar visiones ligeras, sesgadas y dogmáticas. Se necesita saber por qué prevalece un marcado subregistro en los casos de violencia intrafamiliar, por qué las víctimas callan y no se atreven a denunciar públicamente este tipo de delito, por qué algunas mujeres producen y reproducen practicas machistas, por qué la persistencia de la idea de que no se puede intervenir en peleas de pareja, por qué las familias se organizan particularmente en relación al poder de los hombres, por qué no prevalece una labor institucional eficiente y eficaz y por qué los hombres las asesinan cuando ellas intentan alejarse. En este contexto de situaciones desconocidas aún no resueltas, este artículo intenta responder algunas de esas preguntas a través de la descripción de ciertas prácticas sociales que producen y reproducen las mujeres jóvenes víctimas de la violencia intrafamiliar que tienen como lugar de residencia alguna de las zonas que conforman el Distrito Municipal 1 de la ciudad de El Alto.Domestic violence against women is not a new and exclusive social problem of this era. On the contrary, it is a historical constant that goes through the whole history of humanity. However, what is striking today is the fact of having regularized the use of force and the power of man to resolve conflicts in the family context. Despite the negative impact on the health of the victims, this situation has remained hidden, ignored and unpunished, and only in recent years has been described as a public health problem and as a crime. Although there is a lot of research, more studies are necessary to overcome light, biased and dogmatic visions. It is necessary to know why a marked underreporting prevails in cases of domestic violence, why the victims are silent and do not dare publicly denounce this type of crime, why some women produce and reproduce macho practices, why the persistence of the idea that we can not intervene in couple fights, why families are organized particularly in relation to men's power, why efncient and effective institutional work does not prevail and why men kill them when they try to move away. In this context of unknown situations still unresolved, this article tries to answer some of these questions through the description of certain social practices that produce and reproduce the young women victims of intrafamily violence that have as a place of residence any of the areas that make up the Municipal District 1 of the city of El Alto.
