Diseño y construcción de una planta piloto para el tratamiento de aguas residuales por lodos activados y su puesta en marcha para tratar vinazas de una destilería

Abstract

An activated sludge pilot plant for wastewater treatment was designed and constructed. It consists on a feeding tank, a reaction tank, an aireation system, a settling unit, a recycle pump and connection accessories. The pilot plant can be used for aerobic treatment of a variety of wastewaters. The feeding flow can vary among 0.1-5.0 L/h. Given the environmental problem caused by the distillery vinassess, the pilot plant was used to treat its wastewaters using Candida utilis . The DBO and DQO removal was higher than 89.5% and 33.3% respectively.
