Abstract

The article is based on the multidimensional dimensions of poverty where the gender approach is mainstreamed, at the level of: resources, opportunities, power and voice, human security. The research question indicates what are the dimensions of multidimensional poverty with a gender perspective, expressed in the Suches (La Paz) and Cotagaita (Potosi) mining basins, in Bolivia, considering the context of climate change? The objective is to determine the dimensions of multidimensional poverty, with a gender perspective, in two basins of Bolivia that have mining activity, taking into account the context of climate change. The applied methodology is quantitative, using surveys; and qualitative, through interviews. Among the results, in Cotagaita, at the level of the dimension of power and voice, the participation of women must permanently face the struggle for recognition in decision-making spaces; in the dimension of access to opportunities, women are faced with limitations because family assets are mainly in the name of men. On the other hand, in Suches, the access dimension stands out, where the educational levels of women are low among the population of the communities, due to limited access to training processes; and regarding reproductive roles, the subordination of women to men is visible, who restrict female participation in the public agenda.
