Abstract
Resumen: La ICM (Industria del Cine Mexicano) es una actividad económica y de suma importancia para la sociedad al ser una actividad cultural, recreativa, generadora de empleos y que contribuye al desarrollo de nuestro país. En el 2017, las industrias culturales y recreativas llegaron a significar el 3.3% del producto interno bruto (PIB) de México (IMCINE, 2017). Y la participación del gobierno contribuye en forma positiva a la creación y mantenimiento de la ventaja competitiva de esta industria. Adicionalmente, se busca determinar si los apoyos por parte del gobierno a la ICM han mejorado efectivamente en aquellos aspectos que originaron su implementación, evaluando los resultados en cuanto a: número de películas producidas, empleos generados y posicionamiento del producto. En consecuencia, en este trabajo se analiza la importancia de la participación del gobierno en producciones mexicanas, a través de estímulos y/o fideicomisos, para contribuir con el crecimiento y desarrollo de esta industria.
Abstract: The MFI (Mexican Film Industry) is an economic activity and it´s very important for society, it is a cultural recreational activity that generates jobs and contributes to the development of our country. In 2017, cultural and recreational industries came to mean 3.3% of gross domestic product (GDP) in Mexico (IMCINE, 2017). And government participation contributes positively to the creation and maintenance of the competitive advantage of this industry. Additionally, it seeks to determine if the government participation in the MFI have actually improved in those aspects that led to its implementation, assessing the results in terms of: number of films produced, jobs created and product positioning. Consequently, this paper analyzes the importance of government participation in Mexican productions, through incentives and trusts, to contribute to the growth and development of this industry.
