Abstract
The purpose is to analyze the ecological complexity of the beginning of the new millennium, because the magnitude of its
problems, demand to renew Geographic Education. This reflection is due to the validity of the nineteenth-century geographical and pedagogical foundations, to
educate the citizen of the current era, as it is misleading to understand the irrational use of natural resources, to understand the foolishness of the ordering of the territory, the organization of the geographical space and the ecological and social problems environmental. Methodologically, a bibliographical consultation was carried out to explain the events that motivate the innovation of Geographic Education facing the challenges of the new millennium. It concludes by proposing the treatment of ecological and environmental deterioration with a humanistic pedagogical action, based on action-reflection-action and the exercise of participatory action research towards the formation of critical and constructive consciousness.
