Abstract

The transportation sector predominantly relies on gasoline and diesel fuels, making it a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions—particularly CO₂ and NOx—which accelerate climate change and degrade air quality. This study investigates the feasibility of a hydro-methane fuel blend as a sustainable alternative for internal combustion engines (ICE). This study, based on theoretical analysis and comparative performance evaluation, indicates that the hydro-methane blend can significantly reduce CO₂ and NOx emissions while maintaining or enhancing engine efficiency. The results also suggest the blend is compatible with existing infrastructure, requiring minimal engine modifications, making it a practical and cost-effective approach to greener transportation. This study emphasizes the blend’s potential to replace conventional fossil fuels and contribute to the global shift toward sustainable energy solutions.
