The changes that have occurred in relation to safety are presented. A passive approach to safety moves on to a more interactive approach, where the employee is responsible for his/her own safety. A conception of Safety Based on Values (SBV) is also presented, which goes beyond the limits of behavior in the job. It is assumed that the employee who incorporates safety as a value will act safety in different areas, such as work, family, and community. A successful application of the Process SBV in a Venezuelan company is presented. To conclude, it is shown that the changes in safety reflect changes in the psychological health of employees and in the organizational health as a whole.
