The present article emphasizes the changes that organizations are going through. Those changes demand organizations to be healthy in order to be able to function adequately. It has been assumed that healthy organizations are safe organizations, and industrial safety is approached from the point of view of organizational health. The changes that have occurred in relation to safety are presented. A passive approach to safety moves on to a more interactive approach, where the employee is responsible for his/her own safety. A conception of Safety Based on Values (SBV) is also presented, which goes beyond the limits of behavior in the job. It is assumed that the employee who incorporates safety as a value will act safety in different areas, such as work, family, and community. A successful application of the Process SBV in a Venezuelan company is presented. To conclude, it is shown that the changes in safety reflect changes in the psychological health of employees and in the organizational health as a whole.
