EFICACIA Y SEGURIDAD DE LA CREMA BACCHALIS LATIFOLIA "CHILLK'A" EN EL TRATAMIENTO DE OSTEOARTRITIS DE RODILLA

Abstract
Introducción. - La Osteoartritis en la patología osteoarticular más común del mundo. Los antinflamatorios tópicos son una de las principales herramientas en su tratamiento, sin embargo, pierden su eficacia con el pasar del tiempo o pueden presentar reacciones adversas locales, por lo tanto, se tiene que buscar otras alternativas que sean igual de eficaces y seguros. Objetivos. - Evaluar la eficacia y seguridad de la crema Baccharis latifolia al 2% en el tratamiento de la Osteoartritis de rodilla, comparándola con una crema de diclofenaco al 2%. Material y métodos. - Ensayo clínico, comparativo, doble ciego, realizado en personas adultas con Osteoartritis sintomática de rodilla, dividiéndolas en dos grupos de forma aleatorizada y cegada para el participante y el médico tratante, administrando al primer grupo Baccharis latifolia al 2% y al segundo grupo diclofenaco al 2% (tratamiento tópico), junto a sesiones de fisioterapia. Se monitorizo la respuesta al tratamiento con EVA del dolor y WOMAC al inicio y al décimo segundo día de tratamiento. Resultados. - Obtuvimos 100 pacientes mayores de edad, en su mayoría del género femenino con un segundo grado de Osteoartritis de rodilla. Observamos una disminución del dolor, la rigidez y mejoría de funcionalidad estadísticamente significativa en ambos grupos (p=<0.0001), no se observó reacciones adversas locales en ambos grupos. Conclusiones. - La eficacia y seguridad de la crema Baccharis latifolia al 2% fue similar al diclofenaco gel al 2%, siendo esta una posible alternativa en pacientes que pierdan efectividad o presenten reacciones adversas al tratamiento estándar.

Topical anti- inflammatory drugs are one of the main tools in its treatment, however, they lose their effectiveness over time or may present local adverse reactions, therefore, we have to look for other therapeutic options that are just as effective and safe. Objectives. - To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Baccharis latifolia 2% cream in the treatment of knee Osteoarthritis, comparing it with diclofenac 2% cream. Material and methods. - Clinical trials, comparative, double-blind study, carried out in adults with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis, dividing them into two groups in a randomized and blinded way for the participant and the treatingphysician, administering the herbal medicine to the first group and the second group topical anti-inflammatory, together with physiotherapy sessions, monitoring the response to pain treatment with VAS and WOMAC at the beginning and on the twelfth day of treatment. Results. - We obtained 100 patients of legal age, mostly female with a second degree of Osteoarthritis according to radiological images. We observed a decrease in pain, stiffness and improvement offunctionality statistically significant in both groups (p=<0.0001), no adverse reactions were observed in both groups. Conclusions. - The efficacy and safety of Baccharis latifolia 2% cream was similar to diclofenac 2% gel, this being a possible alternative in patients who lose effectiveness or have adverse reactions to standard treatment.
