Abstract
Resumen: Los síndromes desmielinizantes adquiridos (SDA) en pediatría son trastornos neurológicos que resultan en la pérdida de mielina en el sistema nervioso central, afectando la conducción de impulsos nerviosos. Estos incluyen la esclerosis múltiple, los trastornos del espectro de la neuromielitis óptica con anticuerpos contra acuaporina 4 (NMOSD-AQP4+), y los síndromes asociados a anticuerpos contra la glicoproteína de la mielina de los oligodendrocitos (MOGAD). Se presenta el caso de un niño de 4 años diagnosticado con un síndrome desmielinizante adquirido del sistema nervioso central (SNC), con alta sospecha de MOGAD.
Abstract: Acquired demyelinating syndromes (ADS) in pediatrics are neurological disorders that result in the loss of myelin in the central nervous system, affecting nerve impulse conduction. These include multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders with aquaporin 4 antibodies (NMOSD-AQP4+), and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD). A case of a 4-year-old child diagnosed with an acquired demyelinating syndrome of the central nervous system (CNS), with a high suspicion of MOGAD, is presented.
