El derecho a la salud de los pueblos indígenas en aislamiento y en contacto inicial

Abstract

En noviembre de 2006, organizaciones indígenas de Ecuador, Colombia, Brasil, Paraguay, Bolivia y Perú, reunidas en el Seminario Internacional sobre pueblos indígenas en aislamiento y en contacto inicial, realizado en Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, acordaron por unanimidad crear una instancia de coordinacióny ejecución de acciones, a nivel de Sudamérica, con el objetivo de promover el respeto de los derechos fundamentales y el bienestar de estos pueblos hermanos.Fue así como se creó el Comité Indígena Internacional para la protección de los pueblos en aislamiento y en contacto inicial de la Amazonía, el Gran Chaco y la Región Oriental de Paraguay, CIPIACI. | In November 2006, indigenous organizations from Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia and Peru, gathered at the International Seminar on Indigenous Peoples in Isolation and in Initial Contact, held in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, unanimously agreed to create a instance of coordination and execution of actions, at the level of South America, with the objective of promoting respect for the fundamental rights and well-being of these brother peoples. This is how the International Indigenous Committee for the protection of peoples in isolation and in initial contact of the Amazon, the Gran Chaco and the Eastern Region of Paraguay, CIPIACI.
