Abstract

The work shows a simple methodology to eliminate the warehouse plagues in silos and utilized recipients for the storage of grains, later to its crop. It is well-known that the warehouse plagues are an important source of losses in the underdeveloped countries, which generally possess a precarious infrastructure and favourable climatic conditions (high temperatures and environmental humidity) for the proliferation of this type of plagues. In Center America and the Caribbean is very common that the producers store their grains in different such recipients as: metallic drums, plastic drums, rustic barns, sacks of plastic fibers etc. Although in the last years the use of metallic silos has generalized, which use the fosfamina for the elimination of this type of plagues. This a very active chemist, the same one can bring some negative sequels (intoxication and poisoning) in those negligent producers; on the other hand, this product type impacts in an additional cost of this producing to having to buy again this type of chemical. The work has as objective to show a simple and renewable technology for the elimination of this type of warehouse plagues. We used different treatment to obtain better results. The results showed percent of annihilations superior to 95% in all the proven treatments. The professional package Statgraphics, version XV Centurion was used for the statistical analysis.
