La aplicación de las TICs como requisito para la competitividad turística de Sucre
Abstract
El uso de las TICs (Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación) se ha proliferado masivamente dentro del sector turístico mundial, convirtiéndose en una herramienta fundamental que permite conquistar turistas para los diferentes destinos que se promocionan y ofertan en la web. Este artículo tiene por objetivo sistematizar la experiencia en el uso de Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación que lleva a cabo la Ciudad de Sucre, como importante destino turístico de Bolivia, lo que permitirá identificar el grado de aplicación de TICs que realizan los gestores turísticos de la ciudad, para promocionar sus servicios. Debido a la inexistencia de información referida a la investigación, es que se opta por diseñar una metodología que permita relevar, describir y analizar en forma rápida y auto gestionada la existencia de innovaciones en los diversos prestadores de servicios turísticos de Sucre, desde la comercialización y la promoción de hoteles, restaurantes, actividades culturales, museos y hasta un sinfín de servicios. Las TICs constituyen una gran ventaja que se debe saber aprovechar, pero también ha afectado la comunicación o la interacción persona a persona, antes considerada como la forma de promoción mayormente usada en el Turismo. El análisis planteado determinará si el uso actual de TICs conlleva mejoras en el ámbito empresarial turístico de Sucre en términos de competitividad entre destinos. El presente artículo concluirá con recomendaciones estratégicas sobre la aplicación de las TICs, que contribuirán al desarrollo del sector turístico de la ciudad de Sucre, ya que en este aspecto, Sucre no debe quedar al margen, pues las TICs en el turismo son un medio fundamental para apuntalar la competitividad del sector dentro del mercado nacional y mundial del Turismo.
The use of information and communication technology (ICT) is worldwide used in tourism and it has become an essential tool that allows capturing tourists for a variety of destinations that are promoted on the web. The aim of this article is to systematize the experience in the use of ICT in the city of Sucre, as an important touristic destination in Bolivia. This will allow us to identify de degree in which ICT is used by the tourist managers to promote their services. Due to lack of data we have designed a methodology that let us enhance, describe, analyze in a quick and self-managed way the existence of innovations in the tourism service providers in Sucre. The ICT is a great improvement that should be used wisely in the field of tourism since it has also affected negatively the personal interaction, previously considered the most used tool for promotion. The present analysis will determine whether the current use of ICT entails improvements in the tourism business field in Sucre, in terms of competitiveness between destinations. This article will cióse with strategic recommendations about the use of ICT leading to contribute to the growth of the tourism sector in Sucre since it is an essential mean to improve the competitiveness of the sector in the national and worldwide market.
