Nuevo mundo y Conquista by Francisco de Terrazas, a first approximation

Abstract

This paper provides a preliminary study of the Novohispanic poet Francisco de Terrazas’s Nuevo Mundo y Conquista. In the first part it is documented all the information regarding the poet’s biography and oeuvre, while the second consists of a detailed analysis of the epic poem’s preserved octaves in order to reconstruct its argument and study it further.
