El cerro de Potosí, parte del patrimonio mundial
Abstract
La ciudad de Potosí es realmente muy privilegiada en cuanto al área patrimonial, ya que comprende: gran parte del centro histórico (barrios de mitayos-mingas y españoles), el Cerro Rico, toda la Ribera de Ingenios de la Santa Vera Cruz y tres lagunas (San Ildefonso, San Pablo y San Sebastián). El presente trabajo de investigación histórica, aborda la actividad minero-metalúrgica del siglo XVI al XXI. Haciéndo énfasis en la explotación de la plata en la colonia; además de la explotación de la plata y el estaño en la república; además de la de la explotación de los sulfuros complejos de los últimos tiempos. Finalmente, se describe la situación del Cerro Rico de Potosí, como legado cultural para las futuras generaciones y la responsabilidad de conservarlo y protegerlo.
The city of Potosí is really very privileged regarding the heritage area, since it includes: a large part of the historical center (mitayos-mingas and Spanish neighborhoods), Cerro Rico, the entire Ribera de Ingenios of Santa Vera Cruz and three lagoons (San Ildefonso, San Pablo and San Sebastián). The present work of historical research, addresses the mining-metallurgical activity of the sixteenth to the twenty-first century. Emphasizing the exploitation of silver in the colony; besides the exploitation of silver and tin in the republic; in addition to the exploitation of the complex sulfides of recent times. Finally, the situation of Cerro Rico de Potosí is described, as a cultural legacy for future generations and the responsibility of conserving and protecting it.
