Comentarios, adiciones y correcciones al "Nuevo Catálogo de la Flora vascular de Venezuela": las Bromeliaceae

Abstract

An analysis of the family Bromeliaceae from the “Nuevo Catalogo de la Flora Vascular de Venezuela” were performed. We propose some amendments and corrections. Among them we recommend to consider the naked names (nomen nudum) in the list of taxa of the flora. We also analyze the way in which is estimated the taxonomic diversity and propouse a different method for taxa counting, which take into account all of those that are mentioned, from the specific level to down, regardless of their hierarchical level. Using this method the presence of the Bromeliaceae in the Venezuelan flora augment from the374 specific taxa currently recognized by Hokche et al. (2008) to 427 taxa, divided in the following way: 329 taxa recorded only in the species rank, plus 49 species whose presence is represented by 72 infraspecific taxa.
