Efectos de las lámparas de halógeno y de diodos emisores de luz en el blanqueamiento dental externo

Abstract

The objective of the study was to compare the effects of the halogen lamps and light-emitting diodes (LED) lamps in the external dental bleaching. It was an experimental research with an experimental design, done in a probability sample of twenty patients of Operative Dental of Integral Clinic of the Adult III of Dentistry of theULA. Twenty dental bleachingwere donewith Pola office network of SDI. The top right hemiarch was exposed to halogen lamps and the top left hemiarch to lamps LED. The value of the colour and the sensibility were determined before, immediately and fifteen days after consummation of the technique. As a result it was found, with the ANOVA statistical analysis, that there were not significant differences in the value, measured with the Classic Vita® Guide, and in the sensibility between the teeth of both hemiarchs. Only there was a significant difference between these two parameters before and after tooth dental bleaching, demonstrating an increase of the value and sensitivity of the teeth, once applied the technique. It was concluded that the value of teeth diminished increasing its value with the dental bleaching while the sensibility increase immediately but it descended later fifteen days. However, both lamps produced the same effect bleach and same degree of dental sensibility.
