Abstract
El artículo versa sobre las percepciones y valoraciones de periodistas de la ciudad de Sucre-Bolivia, de estudiantes y profesores de la carrera de Comunicación Social de la Universidad San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca, sobre la enseñanza del periodismo en Bolivia. Los resultados indican que la exigencia de título universitario no es indispensable, aunque ello le otorga calidad y garantía al trabajo; que el trabajador de la prensa debe tener una preparación integral, ética y humanística, con amplio dominio del lenguaje, sobre todo escrito; que la formación es muy teórica y carece de la suficiente práctica que permita un mejor desempeño laboral; que los cambios tecnológicos asociados al hacer periodístico obligan la enseñanza de herramientas digitales; que se deben transformar los planes de estudio y las estrategias didácticas, acordes con los nuevos perfiles laborales; y que los docentes deben tener experiencia teórica y práctica, amplia motivación y compromiso con su rol educativo.
The article deals with the perceptions and evaluations of journalists from the city of Sucre-Bolivia, of students and professors of the Social Communication career at the San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca University, about the teaching of journalism in Bolivia. The results indícate that the demand for a university degree is not indispensable, although this gives quality and guarantee to the work; that the press worker must have an integral, ethical and humanistic preparation, with a broad command of language, above all written; that the training is very theoretical and lacks sufficient practice to allow a better job performance; that the technological changes associated with journalism require the teaching of digital tools; that curricula and teaching strategies must be transformed in accordance with new job profiles; and that teachers must have theoretical and practical experience, broad motivation and commitment to their educational role.
