Abstract
Datos proporcionados por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE) revelan que durante la última década el 70% de los hogares tienen a un hombre como "jefe" de hogar, mientras que el 30% es ocupado por "jefas" . A priori, estos datos indican que la esfera del hogar es un espacio cooptado por la matriz patriarcal; sin embargo, esta lectura es superficial y no da cuenta de las verdaderas problemáticas que encubren el uso del concepto "Jefatura del Hogar".
The data provided by the National Institute of Statistics of Bolivia reveals that during the last decade 70% of households have a man as their "head", the remaining 30% is occupied by "female heads" . A priori, these data indicates that the household sphere is a space co-opted by the patriarchal matrix; however, this interpretation is superficial and doesn't show the real problems covered by the use of the concept of "Head of Household".
