Esplendor y enigma en la cultura maya

Abstract

The Mayan culture has always been the cause of great enigmas that reveal a vast range of beliefs and notions of the world through its own autonomy of civilizational development, which is part of history. The arrival of modernity, and with it, the notions of servitude, imposition and slavery, are relevant images that will shape the future of the Mayas. To this we should add the importance of nature as a direct source of the knowledge that enabled the evolution of this society. These are the inspirational motives that have led poets, chroniclers and narrators to the creation of literary proposals that tell, among various subjects, the splendid Mayan wealth that now lies in ruins.
