Abstract
In times of unprecedented accelerated transformations, issue number 13 of the journal Naturaleza y Sociedad. Desafíos Medioambientales brings together a series of diverse topics and interdisciplinary reflections that address sustainability, innovation, and the incorporation of emerging technologies. Despite the varied theoretical and methodological developments of the included manuscripts, they all converge in high-level discussions that tension and enrich the link between the natural and the social. These discussions are especially pertinent in a context marked by multidimensional uncertainty, political volatility, and a growing adoption of uncritical stances on new technologies. The presented articles, written by authors from Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Norway, and Germany, explore topics ranging from political ecology and decolonial thought to aquaculture, bioeconomy, urban landscaping, family farming, and artificial intelligence. The relationships explored in this issue are linked to environmental conflicts, tensions over sustainability in diverse contexts, new methodologies to address environmental challenges, bioeconomy and commercial processes from the Latin American context, and artificial intelligence from a community perspective.
