PERIODISMO, JUICIO Y CULTURA: UNA INSPECCIÓN A LAS CRÓNICAS DE ROBERTO ARLT A PARTIR DE HANNAH ARENDT
Abstract
El artículo realiza una reflexión acerca de la responsabilidad "cultural" del periodismo en la sociedad de masas. Se toca primeramente cuestiones como el carácter de la tarea cultural y su antagonismo con las dinámicas del "entretenimiento". Se analiza, después, las posibilidades de la crónica, la narrativa y el juicio en la realización de un periodismo genuinamente cultural. Por último, se revisa la obra periodística de Roberto Arlt como un ejemplo fundamental de ejercicio del juicio y la narrativa en pro de una crónica periodística orientada culturalmente.
The article reflects on the "cultural" responsibility of journalism in mass society. Questions such as the nature of the cultural task and its antagonism to the dynamics of "entertainment" are first touched upon. The possibilities of the chronicle, the narrative and the judgment in the accomplishment of a genuinely cultural journalism are analyzed later. Finally, the journalistic work of Roberto Arlt is reviewed as a fundamental example of the exercise of judgment and narrative in favor of a culturally oriented journalistic chronicle.
