Abstract
A country's economy is based on its productive capacity, which is influenced by many variables, and currently one of them is artificial intelligence. Its impact extends to areas such as productivity, employment, innovation, and economic growth. However, there is also a risk that it will displace jobs and exacerbate inequalities. These inequalities can contribute to the creation of a wider gap between developed and developing countries. Nations with developed economies tend to adapt more quickly to artificial intelligence, giving them a competitive advantage over other countries. This research paper uses a mixed quantitative-qualitative methodology, conducting a bibliographic review of databases such as Scielo, Google Scholar, and Latindex. It also analyzes existing data on AI and interviews experts about possible solutions to reduce the gap it can generate. As a result, it can be seen that developed countries are better positioned to implement artificial intelligence, given their wealth, which allows them to invest in infrastructure, human capital, and innovation. However, developing countries can address the challenges this entails through policies and avoid being left behind.
