La Descriptio Civitatis Sanctae Fidei (Biblioteca Nacional de Colombia, RM 4) de Fernando Fernández de Valenzuela: introducción, edición y traducción
Abstract
This paper contains the edition and Spanish translation of the first Latin description of the city of Santa Fe (currently Bogota), in the New Kingdom of Granada, written in 1629 by the creole humanist Fernando Fernandez de Valenzuela at the age of twelve. The Descriptio is part of the proemium of the Thesaurus Linguae Latinae , a compendium of grammar composed by the same author and preserved in a manuscript from the National Library of Colombia (ms. RM 4).
