Abstract
This work presents the preparation of multilayer ZrO2/Ag/ZrO2 films deposited at room temperature on commercial glass substrates soda-lime by electron beam evaporation, as candidates for applications in transparent heat reflective mirrors (THM). The optical properties of transmittance and reflectance were investigated based on the thickness of the Ag and ZrO2 component layers, these were varied to achieve high visible transmittance and maximum reflectance at NIR in dielectric/metal/dielectric systems (D/M/D). The optimized ZrO2(45nm)/Ag(22nm)/ZrO2(45nm) multilayer film had a high visible transmittance of 73% and a high NIR reflectance 92% with a maximum factor-Z figure of 0,56 and a cutoff wavelength λ c of 807 nm presenting the best spectral selectivity as coating THM.
