Formación de formadores: contradicciones de la profesionalización docente

Abstract

La formación docente es un factor imprescindible, entre varios otros que permiten el funcionamiento del sistema educativo. No obstante, su relativa articulación actual es de muy reciente cuño, y aun su reconocimiento social no acaba de desembarazarse de la idea decimonónica que hace de la pedagogía mera enseñanza, al margen de cualquier otro aspecto. La revisión crítica del concepto permitiría superar las distinciones puramente instrumentales; abriría la posibilidad de maduración intelectual de los docentes; renovaría eficazmente su inserción y prestigio sociales, y haría un frente a las políticas hegemónicas mundiales que pretenden dar un cauce único y homogéneo a los sistemas educativos de los países latinoamericanos.Teacher's training is an essential factor, among others, for the educational system's operation. Nevertheless, its relative current articulation is very recent and even its social acknowledgement is still tied to the Nineteenth century idea that conceives pedagogy as the mere teaching, aside from any other issue. A critical review of the concept should help to overcome the purely instrumental distinctions; to open the possibilities for teachers' intellectual maturing; to effectively renew their social prestige and insertion, and would allow to constitute an opposition against world dominating policies which attempt to provide a sole and homogeneous direction for Latin American countries' educational systems
