La insuficiencia de la “doble transición”: aproximación crítica a dos enfoques de política comparada

Abstract

This article develops a critical analysis of studies of democratic transition and consolidation, and neoliberalism in Latin America. In addition to evaluating the validity of these studies, the author examines the implications of ignoring structural factors in studying democracy and the state in the region. In turn, the text problematizes the reduced concept of democracy used by United States academia to analyze Latin American politics.
