Aproximación a la relación entre la malaria y la economía de la coca en Guaviare, Colombia, 1979-1989

Abstract

The increase of malaria cases in the region is possibly associated to the migration of people from rural areas to urban centers, motivated by the low production of coca paste. This increased the concentration of susceptible population and, therefore, the number of cases; however, it is possible that the report of these cases experienced an upsurge.
