Abstract
This paper presents a modification of an open channel simulator for rectangular transverse section, adapted to a partially full circular transverse section of flow to study the one-dimensional flow dynamics and its operation like collectordistributor. The simulator uses the Saint-Venant equations with implicit finite differences scheme commonly denominated Preissmann’s method, and an optimization method for the solution of the equation system. The simulator allows the simulation in circular section channels, control techniques tests and the determination of the output flows with known entrance values. The carried out simulations are considered satisfactory, being observed a good stability of the simulator. The perspective of this work is the future inclusion of the gas phase for the dynamic simulation of the manifold type liquid-gas separation.
