Abstract

The literature reviewed reflects the benefit of the diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome as opposed to that of "mild" ASD, since it minimizes the appearance of depressive, anxiety or stressors as a result of a more comprehensive diagnosis and improves communication among professionals. Advocating for the diagnostic independence of Asperger syndrome is the first step in the development of a syndromic diagnosis.
