Abstract

Lifestyles are a fundamental part in the development of the quality of life of people and the main determinants of their health. Being the young university student population, one of the most vulnerable groups. The objective of the study was to analyze the influence of lifestyles on the academic performance of Nursing Students. It was used a quantitative approach, of a correlational analytical type and transverse temporality, and field design. Two techniques were applied: the survey using the CEVJU-R questionnaire, which measured 8 dimensions of lifestyle, and the documentary review for the registration of qualifications; which were applied to a sample of 223 students. The results obtained showed that 74.89% of the population was female; 88.79% were single and 60.99% did not work. The exercise and physical activity dimension was the highest unhealthy practice (60.99%). Women had more unhealthy practices compared to men (67.07% exercise and physical activity and 87.50% leisure). Students from the II to the V semester reported better academic performance than the rest of the semesters, with an average of 14.50 points. Students with healthy eating practices achieved an average of more than 12.38 points. It was concluded that lifestyles were related and influenced the academic performance of students.
