Abstract

The objective of this work is to analyze elements that from a historical-cultural perspective can help the lights on the direct influence that the natural and human scenario of the Tropic had on the scientific and poetic articles of Alexander von Humboldt and Andres Bello respectively; considering the value of the eloquent words of both authors and the closeness that lie between their texts. The two perspectives that are opened in the tropical context - one internal and the other external - allow us to rethink, beyond the differences, the proximity that the word can general among the thinkers who foreshadowed a possible world in Latin America. To think of their travelers' writings is to reconnect with the other more human of both authors, above all because in their wake they left the marks that strengthen the history of Latin American thought.
