Abstract

The occupational disease refers to bodily injury you may suffer as a result of the professional practice of their profession. Among the illnesses of the dentist, we found the highest incidence of which are musculoskeletal injuries are regularly related to body postures, and carpal tunnel syndrome, which is a neuropathic compression of the median nerve at the wrist, which directly affect the job performance of dentists can even cause the inability. We contribute to the theoretical-practical utility collection of scientific articles, interrelating knowledge on the subject, but in a special way, is intended to provide dentists in training, knowledge of the diseases which are likely during their work. Dentists, alarmingly, are exposed to occupational hazards, and that the most common diseases of dentists are musculoskeletal injuries and carpal tunnel syndrome. The case studies showed that 92% of dentists expressed adopt poor posture and having discomfort in the neck and back by more than 53%, reflecting conditions such as cervical and lumbar pain. It´s recommended to reduce the risk of injury, keep your back straight and arms resting for precise movements, it´s also important to educate students of the risks to which they are likely to adopt early on good habits.
