Sesenta años del Decreto Ley de Universidades (1958). Autonomía universitaria plena: origen, desarrollo, transformación y transfiguración (1958-2018)

Abstract

This paper aims at emphasizing the historical meaning of passing the Universities Decree-Law, dated December 5 of 1958 by Dr. Edgar Sanabria, former President of the Republic of Venezuela’s Government Council. This fact is very important since it makes a substantial difference from the social-historical and legal point of view, considering that the partial amendment made in 1970, university autonomy is not such full anymore, otherwise it is restricted; and nowadays it is a transformed university autonomy. All this has occurred from 1958 to 2018, which I have called historical praxis of university autonomy.
