El presente trabajo, explica el origen y algunas características importantes de una de las funciones de producción de mayor aplicación en la economía y la ingeniería industrial, la función "Cobb - Douglas". Por otra parte, para una mejor apreciación de la teoría explicada, se ha escrito en un lenguaje de programación especializado, el programa informático que permite visualizar en un gráfico la función de producción tratada
