Abstract
This paper aims at reflecting about the perception of teachers-understood as native Argentinean-regarding migration from the neighboring countries Bolivia, Paraguay and Peru. Also at discussing the role of the public school as an institution that should promote integration and equal treatment of students, but that in practice, shows traces of institutionalized racism. Through the technique of focus groups, empirical materials were collected. Those demonstrated a prejudiced and discriminatory attitude of teachers that generates distance between native and foreign migrants, promoting an explicit discipline and social control towards certain groups of migrants.
