Abstract
In Latin America and the Caribbean, there are countries that are undertaking structural transformation processes in the economic, political and social environments that are making an important contribution in education policies and practices, educational transformations that certainly transcend societies around new they want to build. In the context of comparative research, this paper shows the main features of education systems Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Nicaragua and Venezuela. We divide the analysis into two sections: the first section, which we call "Educational Contexts", although it is a brief summary of educational systems, an effort to show the correspondence between these projects and the role that nation has done education to respond to the national interest. In the second section, "Comparative Perspectives", the comparative study of educational contexts in an effort to identify similarities and educational trends in these six countries is made.
