Abstract
El presente artículo tiene como objetivo reflexionar en torno a los fundamentos históricos de la evaluación de la calidad de la educación superior y de la autoevaluación de carreras universitarias. Se realizó una búsqueda exhaustiva de la bibliografía y se tomó como referencia a autoevaluaciones de carreras de dos universidades públicas autónomas de Bolivia. La autoevaluación de carreras tiene como propósito la acreditación y no así la mejora continua. Por otra parte se observa un desarrollo exitoso en los procesos autoevaluativos llevados a la acreditación de la calidad educativa.
This paper has the objective is to think about historical foundation of the evaluation of quality in higher education and the self-assessment of university careers. It made a deep search of the bibliography and it took references self-assessment of two public universities of Bolivia. The purpose of self-assessment is the accreditation not the continuous improvement. On the other hand there is an successful self-assessment process brought to the accreditation.
