Abstract
El 18 de mayo de 2021 se festejan las Bodas de Oro de la Carrera de Comunicación Social de la Universidad Católica Boliviana "San Pablo", la primera carrera de formación de periodistas y comunicadores sociales en Bolivia. La fecha de su nacimiento en 1971 coincidió con la V Jornada Mundial de las Comunicaciones Sociales, fecha de la Ascensión del Señor, oportunidad en la que, en Roma, se presentó la Instrucción Pastoral "Communio et Progressio". Han transcurrido cincuenta años como carrera, cuyo antecedente es la experiencia del Instituto Superior de Ciencias y Técnicas de la Opinión Pública. Una tradición de servicio a la comunicación e información del país es digna de celebración para una carrera que tiene vocación de servicio desde la palabra.

Fifty years have passed as a career, whose antecedent is the experience of the Higher Institute of Sciences and Techniques of Public Opinion. A tradition of service to communication and information in the country are worthy of celebration for a career that has a vocation of service from the word.
